The first hour of this (as usual!) all-vinyl show covers 12″ singles that flirt with various soul/funk/tropical/disco/balearic/dirty ambient sounds, then the second hour starts with three tracks in the ancient future genre, then surrenders to deep house and runs with it for the remainder of the show.

Electronic, disco, soul/funk Record Store Day releases from 2020 Drops 1 and 2 in the first hour, quality 12″ singles in the second hour. Special attention to the Long Island NY band Cross Island, and the brand new 2020 A Certain Ratio record. The Bobby Moore track (Call Me Your) Anything Man has been running through my head all week. The second hour closes with tracks from two Ace 45th Anniversary 7”s. All tracks are aces in this show, no matter what label they are on.

What is this show? Maybe better to ask what it isn’t… Starts off consistent with soul funk boogie during the first hour, but in the second hour starts to mutate through beat tracks, 60s Mod, balearic, then ambient to take you on a full trip whose concept was solidified from the first track of hour one. I would direct you to be sure to hear the D-Day and Al Tone tracks. Having listened to this finished show twice, if you want to hear how good an ambient track can be, play the Jonny Nash, Suzanne Kraft track!

Swaying through the reeds on a hot Summer day. Paddling though the mangroves, today you have your accompaniment on Gulls Window Circus. An all-vinyl tropical, Brazilian, Jamaican show that made the heat outside fun and made me wonder why I seldom tread in these genre waters. Even includes a song from a play in Philadelphia (Magic Of Love). The Black Harmony track has been slipping in and out of my head all week, and the As Damas Do Rap track must be heard.

The seventh week of recorded-from-home shows to accommodate the closure of WZBC due to COVID-19. Both hours are all-vinyl 7″s in the soul/funk category, many are international, and some have gospel roots. This is not a rock show, but it is surely a Gulls Window Circus show all the way.
