A 2 hour Gulls Window Circus born out of a desire to discover artists I hadn’t heard or had overlooked. In the accelerated timeline we live in, it is easy to focus on the familiar. This show introduces a bunch of tracks that have provided joy to me that I hadn’t expected. Hope you enjoy them as well.

Gulls Window Circus returns to two hours with a hippy dream, capturing the innocence we’ve lost with the ages. Every artist is well-known, but the tracks presented tell a different story than AM/FM gave you back then. Many highlights… Hear the optimism Little River Band – from Australia at that time – sang about hope in America in those different times. Thanks for these records Jack.

Old school 84-88 hip hop is the focus of Gulls Window Circus today. L.L. Cool J, The Time, Ice-T, Eric B. & Rakim, DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, EPMD, Boogie Down Productions, Public Enemy, Salt ‘N’ Pepa, Schoolly D, Run DMC, even a 12″ B-side by Prince And The Revolution. Time to re-evaluate/re-visit a bedrock time period for music.

Today’s Gulls Window Circus is a rock show that surfaces some excellent tracks I’ve found while CD surfing in my collection. It ends with the most well-known artist of the bunch, Nada Surf. Outside of Sean Na Na (a Har Mar Superstar side project) the bands had only regional success. Choo Choo La Rouge, The Audiants, Linnane, and Clem Snide had Boston roots. The show is a love letter to 00, with 1 from 2000, 3 from 2002, 3 from 2005, 2 each from 2006, 2007, and 2009, and then 1 each from 2014 and 2017.
